Coastal Woodland, Inc. is an award winning, full service landscape company located in Baldwin County, Alabama. We are noted for our efforts to preserve the integrity of the environment in conjunction with the development of custom, personalized and otherwise enhanced landscape.
Our Mission
To create personal outdoor living spaces through preservation of existing flora and fauna and the utilization of unique exotic and native plant materials.

Coastal Woodland, Inc. is owned and managed by
David Ellis of Lillian, Alabama.
A Coastal Woodland landscape
reflects the combined experience David has gained from having spent a lifetime
in the horticultural industry. This experience includes:
- Being raised in the family retail nursery, extensive knowledge of wildflowers and native woody plants.
- B.S. degree in Natural Resources in 1979 from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee.
- Extensive knowledge of wildflowers and native plant material.
- Development of unique plant material for the nursery industry from native and exotic collections of magnolias, azaleas, holly's, maples, perennials, etc...
- Development and construction of growing operations utilizing unique plant materials for the floral industry.
- Continuing experience from designing and installing landscapes
and irrigation systems for Coastal Woodland since 1994
